SNVRKOTICS Science publishes two papers: what “every X minutes” hides, and whether the universe forgets

The Missing Minute finds the start minute that timing statistics never give and shows why Old Faithful keeps time in pairs; Folded, Not Forgotten tests a seed-and-cycles theory of the universe against physics.

SNVRKOTICS LLC today published two papers from SNVRKOTICS Science, its research division. Both are free to read, both are released under the W2FPL, and both are listed on the papers page with their code.

The Missing Minute

A claim that something happens “every X minutes” never says which minute the schedule starts, so it cannot be checked against a clock. The Missing Minute shows that the start minute exists only when the events have a spectral line at that period, and that when it exists it belongs to each run of events, not to any statistic that summarizes them. It introduces phase memory, the number of events over which a schedule stays predictable, and a corrected version of the standard test for periodicity, which otherwise reports rhythms that are not there.

Applied to the 1985 record of Old Faithful, the theory finds that the geyser keeps time 2.6 times more precisely over two eruptions than over one, because each eruption corrects the last, and that it remembers its rhythm for about five eruptions. A century of British coal-mine disasters shows the opposite case: “one every seven months” meant an average wait of eleven. The code and data are at github.com/snvrk/missing-minute, and every number in the paper reproduces from a seeded script.

Folded, Not Forgotten

Folded, Not Forgotten states a four-part thesis, the Fold Hypothesis: the universe began from a seed that fixes everything; knowing the seed would let someone predict everything; free will is therefore an illusion; and the universe cycles, with every trace of each cycle folded into the next seed. The paper tests each part against established physics. Its main result is that endless cycles, entropy carried between them and traces that last forever are consistent only if the universe's laws destroy no information, which is also what most physicists now expect of black holes. The paper and its toy-universe code are at github.com/snvrk/folded-not-forgotten.

How they were made

Both papers are by SNVRK (Caleb Gottfried), founder of SNVRKOTICS, and follow the format of his first paper, Ticketstorm as Mass Visual Disruption (2025). An AI writing tool assisted with drafting and analysis code; the author reviewed both papers and is responsible for their content.
