8 kinds, each one knowing what it needs
A link cannot publish until it has what its kind requires. A release with no destination and no fallback is a page that goes nowhere, so the editor refuses it.

A pasted URL is matched on its host, never on a substring, so a lookalike address cannot wear a real store's name and color on a page an artist's audience trusts. Anything not listed is a custom platform: your own name, your own icon, your own verb.

Routing
Decided on the server, at the click
Three mechanisms, all evaluated by the resolver at the moment somebody taps the link. Nothing is decided in the listener's browser and nothing about the listener is kept.
- Territories
- A destination can be limited to countries. A store that does not operate in a listener's country is not shown to them, and a regional service shows only where it exists.
- Conditions
- Rules on country, platform and referrer, in order, that send a visitor to a different destination — or to a different link altogether. The first match wins.
- Fallback
- Where the link goes when nothing else applies: a store page, your site, a video. A link with no visible destination and no fallback cannot be published.
Your domain
A short link on nvr.to, or on a domain you own
nvr.to links are on every plan, including free: four characters and a slug you choose. On Pro and above, point a domain at NVR.to, confirm you control it with a DNS record, and the links you put on it carry your name. The certificate is issued for you.
What a click records
Numbers you can act on, about nobody in particular
Which button, which country, phone or desktop, and which site sent them. That is enough to order the buttons and know where the audience is — and it is all there is.
What we do not collect
A click log is the easiest place in a product to accidentally build a tracking database. The request already carries an address, a device string and a referrer, and keeping all three is one line of code.
- No IP addresses. Read to work out a country, then discarded. Never written down.
- No cookies. Nothing is stored on the listener’s device, so there is no banner to click.
- No following anyone between days. Same-day repeat taps are collapsed using a key that is rebuilt every midnight and cannot be matched against yesterday’s.
The cost is real and worth stating plainly: we cannot tell you unique visitors for a month, because answering that would mean keeping the thing we chose not to keep.

The things around the link
Each of these is a control in the editor today, on the free tier as much as on Business.
- Paste to add
- Paste a store URL and the scanner recognizes the service, fills the label and pulls the artwork. A lookalike host is refused.
- Rescans
- Every published link is checked nightly, and on demand. A destination that has gone dead is flagged and hidden while another remains.
- QR code and embed
- A QR code as SVG, light or dark, for print; an iframe embed of the link for your own site. Both from the editor.
- Export
- Every click on a link as CSV: time, destination, country, device, referrer. Nothing that identifies a person, so nothing to redact.
Not on the list
Three things NVR.to does not do
Said here so nobody has to discover it in the editor.
- Pre-save to a library
- Saving a release into a listener's library needs the listener to authorize an app with the store. NVR.to has no store OAuth apps and does not promise one. A pre-release link carries the date, the artwork and the stores, and becomes the release link on the day.
- Tour-date feeds
- A tickets link points at wherever each show is sold. There is no automatic feed from a ticketing aggregator.
- Pixels and retargeting
- No third-party script runs on a link page. Retargeting a listener means identifying them, which the click log is built not to do.

- What is a smart link?
- One address that takes each listener to the right store for their country and device. NVR.to serves it on nvr.to or on a domain you own, and records the click as a service, a country, a device class and a referrer — never as a person.
- Which stores does NVR.to recognize?
- 330 services across streaming, download stores, video, podcasts, social and ticketing, matched by hostname so a lookalike address cannot borrow a real store's name.
- Does NVR.to track listeners?
- No. No cookie is set, no IP address is stored, and the visitor hash rotates daily so it cannot become an identifier. That also means NVR.to does not report unique visitors, and says so.
- Can a link page use my colors?
- Yes, on every plan. Each link takes an accent and a background from a color picker in the editor; the page chooses its own ink so the buttons stay readable on whatever you pick. The default is the light or dark theme.
- Does the page carry structured data?
- Yes. Every link page emits schema.org markup for what it is (a MusicAlbum, MusicGroup, PodcastSeries, MusicEvent or MusicPlaylist) with the artist's ISNI as an identifier and a link to isni.org when you add one, so a crawler ties the release to the artist's authority record rather than to a name string.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes, on Pro and above: verify the domain with a DNS record, a certificate is issued for it, and any link you put on it is served from your address.
